I work as an Equity Research Associate covering the Payments and Fintech industry, where I focus on turning complex financial and market data into clear insights. My role involves building financial models to set and track key performance metrics, designing interactive dashboards to visualize trends, and managing curated API data feeds that deliver timley information to clients. This combination of analysis and technology allows me to provide timely, data-driven perspectives on a fast-moving industry.

I served as a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON:1200) over two semesters, leading six discussion sections and engaging with more than 200 undergraduate students. My role involved facilitating weekly discussions to clarify key concepts, holding office hours to provide individualized support, and assisting with exam proctoring and grading assignments. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, foster student engagement, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic academic setting.

June 2022 - August 2022

In the summer of 2022, I completed an internship with Wells Fargo’s Middle Market Credit team in Des Moines, IA. In this role, I reviewed client audits and contributed to drafting annual memos evaluating financial health and creditworthiness. I also updated pricing models to support accurate financial forecasts and developed detailed case studies on hypothetical clients, which I presented to senior team members. Additionally, I modeled prospective retail investor real estate deals, analyzing fair loan-to-value estimates to inform strategic decision-making. This experience enhanced my analytical skills and provided hands-on exposure to credit assessment and financial modeling in a professional banking environment. 

I was selected to assist four adjunct professors in teaching Financial Information Technology (FIT) for one semester. In this role, I supported over 150 students across five classes by addressing in-class questions and guiding them through complex tasks, including Excel-based problem-solving, Monte Carlo simulations, and the FactSet research software. Additionally, I graded assignments with a focus on providing constructive feedback and held weekly office hours to offer individualized support. This experience enhanced my technical expertise, strengthened my ability to mentor students effectively, and deepened my knowledge of financial technology tools. 

I completed multiple internship terms at Cambridge Investment Research, a broker-dealer based in Fairfield, IA, from May 2020 through August 2021. During my first summer, I worked in the Operations department, where I enhanced webinar experiences for financial professionals and supported the migration of client records from the Pinnacle database to OnBase. In my second summer, I joined the Business Development team, creating marketing materials for recruiters, curating lists of prospective clients, and developing a new roadmap for the company’s primary client recruiting materials. These experiences allowed me to build a strong foundation in operations, business development, and client-focused project management. 

During two summers and one winter break in college, I worked as a Facilities Technician at Maui Jim, a manufacturer of high-end polarized sunglasses. It was a hands-on summer job where I helped maintain the grounds and assisted with various construction projects. Some of the work I contributed to included bathroom remodels, drainage line installations, and renovating underground storm shelters. 

One of my earliest professional experiences was working for several summers in high school at Kumon, a tutoring center specializing in mathematics and reading for young students. As a Teaching Assistant and Data Analyst, I gained early exposure to both education and data management by grading assignments, assisting students with their coursework, and maintaining academic records in the center’s software system. I also prepared individualized progress reports for parents, which helped strengthen my attention to detail and ability to communicate insights clearly.
